Angela Slade, MA, RCC has donated her time to raise   money and awareness about the social impact that body image has on girls and women. Angela will screen the Embrace documentary and follow it up with a one hour directed discussion and offer actionable suggestions for women and girls to think and act in ways that promote positive body image.

The Embrace Documentary is told from the point of view of Taryn Brumfitt, Founder of “The Body Image Movement” out of Australia.  She talks to “experts, women in the street and well-known personalities about the alarming rates of body image issues that are seen in people of all body types”. Building Resiliency for Mind/Body/Life

Over the course of this day-long workshop Angela Slade, MA, RCC will support moms and daughters to work individually and together to expose some inner thoughts and limiting beliefs that may be holding your mind and/or your body hostage and keeping you from who you truly are or what you truly want in life right now.

  • Understand how to integrate healthy communication skills to achieve inner-power and confidence to speak up and be assertive to ask for what you want and need.
  • Have some foundational skills to build self-confidence by learning how to set boundaries with yourself and others.
  • Learn how to work with your inner critic to recover your wise voice.
  • A platform to continue to build your inner-foundation.

"At the exact time that our society embraces shaming, blaming, judgment and rejection, it also holds acceptance and belonging as immensely important. In other words, it’s never been more impossible to “fit in”, yet “fitting in” has never been more important and valued." ~ Brene Brown

This is an 8-week psycho-educational workshop on understanding and healing shame.

The Connections workshop draws on empirical based strategies developed by Dr. Brene Brown (writer, researcher, educator, and activist) to help individuals recognize shame as a universal experience and embrace authentic living as a foundation for shame resilience. Topics include:

  • Defining shame
  • Practicing empathy ( for self and others)
  • Exploring triggers and vulnerabilities
  • Practicing critical awareness
  • Reaching out to others
  • Creating, embracing, and inspiring change

***It is strongly recommended that you commit to attending all eight sessions.
